They had an amazing wedding in one heck of a great location (The Don Cesar Hotel in St Pete Florida).....plus these two are completely awesome!! One of my favorite destination weddings of 2011!

Dapper Du Jour...614 Magazine shoot

A month or so ago I had the pleasure of doing a photo session for 614 Magazine. The idea...a dapper evening at 3rd and Hollywood. Thanks to the stylists (Piece Of Chic), all the models, the boutiques for the clothing and accessories (Rowe, Ladybird, and Brigade), Maria Minnelli for the photo assisting, hair and make up (Studio Elements) and of course 614 for working all this up!

Below is the image that ran in 614 as well as the first image (Manhattan and Martini!). The others

are extras that I thought were cool enough to post here.

Since the below image did not run, no editing was done to the lights reflecting....i know it looks goofy but i like the image :)

Bungalow New Albany Opening Party

New Albany got a treat last week with the opening of the 3rd Bungalow! The New Albany Bungalow is by far the biggest and most impressive of the three. You def need to check it out if you are a fan of rustic modern home design.

All of these images were shot with my Canon 35mm L lens between F2 and F2.8 and at 6400 iso.

Today is an odd day here in Columbus. Right now its about 30 degrees warmer than it should be. I am sure this is the calm before more of the winter storm. I have been waiting on a day like this to shoot photos of my pregnant sister. We ended up doing these photos a couple days ago during some of the coldest weather this season. I will have to say...i love the winter snow look in these photos. Of course
we had plans to do things a little different but time came down and we decided just to head outside really fast and do some pics.

Claire and I will be an aunt and uncle in less than two weeks! Wow....bring on the crazy baby fun times!!

Yup, we did an engagement video and could not be happier with it. Our friends Chad Butler and Joe Charlton of CBJC Productions hooked this up for us. They are a pretty new company to the world of weddings but they do some amazing work that is extremely modern in the world of wedding videography. I highly recommend checking them out!

Portland to Columbus

So, one of my best dude friends is in town visiting for the holidays. He is one of the many friends of mine that grew up in Columbus and then moved to the might Portland, Oregon. I have known Tom since I was about 14yrs old. He is one of my best dudes in my wedding and will always be someone close to me.

Anyways, I almost never shoot pics of my good friends.....which is gonna change. Here is a set of images I shot of Tom midday yesterday while the fog was rolling through. I dig em!

All of these photos were shot with the Canon 5d Mark II along side the amazing Canon 85mm L 1.2 lens.

Fitted: A Collaboration of The Best Mens Boutiques

Last night was the first of what i hope to be many for the event called Fitted. The basic idea is dudes will be dudes. A social event incorporating a few of the mens boutiques in Columbus as well as, Middle West OYO Whiskey tastings, Light refreshments provided by Barrio Tapas, Old School records from Spoonful Records, Cigar giveaways, an on site tailor for any tailoring questions, Old Familiar Barbershop doing dapper cut and straight razor shaves, and just over all dude stuff.

Opening Reception of Bungalow in Powell Ohio!

Claire and I met up with a few friends to check out the opening reception of Bungalow in Powell Ohio. If your not familiar with Bungalow and live in Columbus or are visiting, I highly recommend you check out either of the two shops (Short North and Powell). The decor and style that Julie, Paige and the newly added Tish Miller bring to their shop is amazing. I have to also give a shout out to my friend Rich Trevino, who is showing some of his super stylish jewelry at Bungalow. I have very talented friends!

All these photos were shot at iso 6400 (which is the highest iso setting on the 5d Mark II) with the Canon 35L 1.4 lens. I really enjoyed shooting all the detail and style that Bungalow has to offer. I am most happy when i can push my iso and not use flash. Its a much more natural feel to me...even if the colors are off..it still captures the mood and feeling. I am gonna have to write Canon and tell them to make the 5d Mark III with an iso setting of 12000+. Yes please!

Its been a while and lots of things have been going on. The end of my full heavy wedding season is right around the corner and booking and meeting season will be at hand. I am working on tons of new ideas and new ventures for next year...so cross your fingers that these ideas see the light. I love bringing new things to the table to bring out my style and ideas to see them fit right into my wedding, fashion, and editorial work.

NYC last weekend...St Pete Florida this weekend!

     These past two week have been a little bit of a whirl wind of photography work and travel. Last weekend I was in the mighty NYC for a wonderful eng session (which you will see here in the next two weeks) then back home for a couple days and tomorrow I leave for a wedding shoot in St Pete Florida.

    I love the fact that through my work i get to see and use many different palettes, looks and locations. My dream is to one day put all my street photographs together into an art book (My super far off dream is to have Taschen put it out!!!) . It will definitely take me a while to build a collection so of course I am looking into the distant future, but when i am walking around each city, I have a book layout in the back of my mind.

     Here are a few street photos from my recent trip to NYC. New York is one giant city and I have yet to even take a chunk out of it...so more trips are definitely in order! Extra info::::: 99% of these photos were shot waist level..from the hip, which is not easy while walking at New York pace. Ask anyone...I am the slowest walker.

While leaving CB2, we walked into a giant 5 minute rain pour. So we ducked into a doorway and I shot photos. I was cleaning off my camera and lens every 5 seconds.

This is one of my favorites form this trip. I think they noticed me shooting as I walked by.

Tomorrow, I will be jumping on a plane for a shoot in NYC. Be on the look out for a giant NYC photos post when i return. Cant wait to show you what this couple has in store as well as all the street photos I will be shooting along the way. I will keep the amazing Bill Cunningham in the back of my mind for inspiration!

Yup, the cover of the most recent issue of Columbus Bride Magazine was shot by me! Super excited to have my first magazine cover be a Columbus publication! Of course I could not have shot this image without the amazing couple (John and Lauren Toterhi) and my wonderful assistant (Kim Martin). Hopefully more covers will be in my future. I am working my ass off :)

My favorite time of year is finally here....OCTOBER and HALLOWEEN!!! Claire (fiancee) and I have always been a bit more on the horror movie side...i say a bit but i really mean TONS...so this month is always extra fun for us. We have the house all set up with Halloween decor and our Sunday horror movie night has started (last night was House Of The Devil...which i extremely recommend!). So today i thought it fit to freak everyone out with this post of dead things and evil things and scary things and nightmarish things and things that have teeth and things that will just freak your pants off :)
